6 Actionable Ways To Stop Anxiety- Right Now!
If you’ve never experienced the crippling effects of anxiety, first of all, I hate you. Just kidding (but actually I’m kinda also not kidding…).
Since you’re reading this post, though, I’m guessing either you need some help with anxiety, or you know someone who does. Or you’re my mom or some other relative reading out of obligation 😉
Either way, here are some things that have helped me, all of which are easy to implement right away.

1.Take Ibuprofen (if it’s safe for you and your doc approves).
*AKA- Do not take this as medical advice. I am an armchair physician, meaning I’m not a real doctor, as much as I consider my own advice to be solid gold.*
Anywho, I read somewhere that anxiety can be triggered or worsened by inflammation in the body. Anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, then, can help reduce symptoms. In my personal experience, it has helped calm the racing thoughts and pounding in my chest. It has also helped me relax enough to get some sleep.
2. Make a list of 10 things you like about yourself.
Just trust me on this one. I know the last thing I wanna do when I’m full of anxiety or feeling depressed is do some cheesy #positivevibes activity- but even if your heart is not in it- try it! Redirecting your thoughts is vital. Self-love is everything when you’re feeling less than worthy.
3. Tell someone your thoughts.
Sometimes saying them out loud or even just writing them down can bring you a ton of clarity. Sometimes it helps to see how ridiculous you’re being and how much you’re overthinking. Your anxiety is lying to you! Bottom line- you need to get out of your own head.
4. Get excited about something.
Again, this is about redirecting your thoughts. Focus on something that isn’t the problem. Distract, distract, distract until you feel better. A few ideas: plan a vacation, write a blog post, story, ebook, etc., look for a new job, buy a new outfit, try a new makeup routine, plan a business venture, start a craft project…
5. Get some exercise.
Yeah, yeah, you’re all *shocked* I’d suggest going to the gym. It’s solid advice, though. Go sweat it out, get the endorphins flowing, and crush your workout.
6. Eat something.
Last but certainly not least, make sure you are not, in fact, just hangry.
And If all else fails, just add water!
